the five mile grace – a matthew miller photography joint bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

It started and ended very quickly. I took a photography course my junior year at North Gwinnett High school. 2 weeks later I was kicked out, and thats what I thought would the end of my interest of photography. Anyhow, many years later I found myself embarking on my first tour out of the country to Europe with my band ,Most Precious Blood, and for the trip, my mother bought me my first digital camera.I wanted to document every part of the journey(little did i know that i would tour europe a total of five times in the coming years).

Its been almost 6 years since that tour. I have traveled all over the US more times than I can remember.I've been overseas to Brazil, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and all over Europe. Now I've dropped anchor after living in Brooklyn NY and doing the band full time, I bought a house with my lovely lady(and amazing tattooer) Danielle. We have two midget vegan pitbull puppies named Trainwreck and Justice. We just bought a beautiful home in East Atlanta Georgia. Life is really looking good these days.

I created this blog to show the kind of Photography that I have been doing recently, and also to have a platform to show what is going on in my life. I am available for hire when im not working with the best damn wedding photographers in Atlanta at OUR LABOR OF LOVE. Please get in touch or leave me a comment if you like what you see, or you want to set up a shoot.

carissa & jay just made the athens wedding scene a million times cooler!

so its been a really long time since ive hung out in athens, but since i was brought on to shoot this wedding, i was amped to make the trek up there…and it was WAY worth it! right when i showed up at the venue to set up some gear before the wedding, the groomsmen we there going over details, and one of them commented about my tony hawk and my santa cruz screaming hand tattoos…now i KNEW this wedding was going to be off the hook with the wedding officiant knowing his 80s skateboarding culture! jay and carissa were cool as ice and made taking photos of them like shooting fish in a barrel. the location was amazing and the dance party was on point ( i even stepped in for a minute during the cupid shuffle!) thats so much guys for having me there and for letting me document such a perfect wedding.

erin & chad, like freakin peas & carrots!!!

this wedding was damn perfect. set about 45 minutes outside of NYC at a park called baker camp. there was not a point in the day that everyone in attendance let go of their ear to ear smiles. i really wish i could relive this wedding again and again, it was just too fun!!! erin and chad have been such good friends (and roomates), it was so rad to see them seal the deal. erin is a photographer(she really pushed me to get to where i am) and i was blown away that she had me be the one to shoot her wedding. she also made my dream come true with jumping into the lake and letting me shoot it with her wedding dress on! oh and the vegan marshmallow roast kicked ass as well. congrats dudes!!!!

the groomsmen got engraved knives while the bridesmaids got handmade necklaces by URBAN ALCHEMIST.

oooh vegan cupcakes by karen radman!!!

as you can see, Hagan reeeeealy wanted that garter!

and now we got them in the water and i shot some of my fav wedding photos EVER!!!

woohoo!!

and the the perfect bonfire along with the first moonrise ive even seen.

taking back sunday

not only is taking back sunday a well know rock outfit, the singer is my fiancé’s ex boyfriend, and ive been friends with these dudes since their humble beginnings when i used to live in long island. the raddest part is even though they can sell out madison square garden and sell tons of records, they are still very down to earth dudes, and even at the show they played last night in atlanta, they showed that they can still have fun on stage and not carry their success as a burden or be too serious to where they forget how to still have fun playing music. i had a good time shooting the show since i didnt bring any of my lights and shot with just a 50mm lens. enjoy!
